ReplyThe Post said the child's aunt was injured. The APD says the child's mother. Which was it? Why the discrepancy?

ReplyThe Brookville Seminary Valley Civic Association is to be commended for fighting developers every step of the way. Townhouses, condos, one by one developers tried to pitch what would sell. Time again and again the BSVCA said "No way!" The developers finally gave up. The timing was right, BRAC funds made the purchase possible. Due to the steep grade and bio-diversity on site, the park would serve best as a passive, natural area.

If you don't like the St. Elmo's offerings, have you talked w/ Nora? Before you bite the hand that serves, pls note w/out Nora/St. Elmo's Del Ray might never have re-gentrified. Or taken longer. I remember when the Del Ray zip code was the place you moved from, not to.

ReplySo what do you have against cicadas? They don't bite, sting, eat your clothes. They simply serenade and if you're lucky, you feed your cat less food while they are out.

ReplyMagruders pulled out due to economic down turns in their business plans. I don't think we'll see any of the closed stores reopen anywhere. I hope another independent grocery opens at the former Van Dorn space behind the Burke Library that offers similar fresh produce prices and unique foods. The larger stores are nice, yet Magruders had a unique, affordable, niche. Sure the place looked like a dump yet w/ the prices, who cared?
I thought the second store "cafe" at the Bradlee Safeway would be on the second floor w/ the food bar.
Landmark? Get a clue, it was the acquisition of K-Mart by Sears, Hecht's buying out Woodies/Macy's acquisition of Hecht's plus both anchor stores own the land under their own stores. And the May Company, after purchasing the interior Mall portion, their bankruptcy issues. Keep reading the Patch to be informed!

ReplySo where do you find a list of who's covered under this umbrella? I've seen the lawn signs around, yet can not find an "entire list" of participating charities and how the matching fun w/ the sponsoring agency work.

After the Beauregard re-development, we won't have space for the working class folks. Mayor's Euille's One Alexandria will be just that, One [Economic] Alexandria. Not much diversity there.
