Alexandria Dentist Sentenced for Insurance Fraud
Tuan Vu of Cosmetic and Family Dentistry will spend 46 months in prison and pay substantial fines.
An Alexandria dentist has been sentenced to 46 months in prison and ordered to pay fines for committing health care fraud at his dental practice. Tuan Vu, 43, of Arlington, will have two years of supervised release following his prison term for defrauding more than 50 private dental insurance providers of more than $2 million. U.S. District Judge Liam O’Grady also ordered Vu to pay a $250,000 fine and more than $2 million in restitution. Vu, the owner of Cosmetic & Family Dentistry in West End Alexandria, pleaded guilty to health care fraud in January.
