If you’re interested in starting a business, the 2014 DC/Virginia Business & Community Expo is this weekend. The expo is at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Sheraton Suites at 801 N. St Asaph St. in Old Town Alexandria. The event is free to attend.

The no-kill shelter King Street Cats is hosting a kitten adoption event at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Duncan Branch library at 2501 Commonwealth Ave. in Alexandria.

The Aldersgate Church Community Theater presenting Beauty and the Beast this weekend. Performances are at 2 p.m. on Friday and Saturday at the church on 1301 Collingwood Road in Alexandria.

Take a walk through Huntley Meadows Park and see if you can spot an owl. The evening walk is at 5p.m. Saturday at the park on 3701 Lockheed Blvd. Register online.
