Election Day. Voters will head to the polls on Tuesday to cast their ballot for the governor’s race, among others. Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Check out a sample ballot

Support Mount Vernon High School’s Crew Team this week by eating at Moe’s Southwest Grill. From 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, 10 percent of proceeds will benefit the crew team. The fundraiser takes place at the restaurant’s location on 7698 Richmond Highway.

The Alexandria Film Festival kicks off this weekend. View short and feature-length films, documentaries, and presentations. The festival is from Thursday through Sunday. Find details about the event and where to buy tickets on their website. 

The Torpedo Art Factor presents “Reflections,” a special exhibition that is part of Fotoweek DC. The exhibit showcases photo-based artwork that examines the “reflections” theme, according to the Torpedo Factory’s website. The exhibition begins on Nov. 9 at 10 N. Union St. in Alexandria.

Author Tom Angleberger of the Origami Yoda children’s books will be signing books and meeting with children and their parents from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the Fairfax County Government Center on 12000 Government Center Parkway. Register online.

If you like antiquing, check out the Lucketts Annual Holiday Open House and Winter Market. The event draws over 60 vendors to the Lucketts Store Design House to sell vintage items. The event is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at the design house on 42350 Lucketts Road in Leesburg. 

This weekend, W.T. Woodson High School’s crew team boosters are throwing their 21st Annual Holiday Happenings Craft Fair. The show features handmade fine arts, jewelry, woodwork, pottery and more. About 100 exhibitors will participate. The event is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday at the high school on 9525 Main St. in Fairfax. 

Robinson Secondary School is hosting their own craft festival with over 80 vendors to support the school’s PTA student and faculty programs. The event is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the school on 5035 Sideburn Road in Fairfax. 

Mingle with artists, buy artwork, and just take a look at pieces from 100 visual artists at the Workhouse Arts Center for their Second Saturday Art Walk. The show is from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday at the center on 9601 Ox Road in Lorton. 

Members of the military community can learn more about educational options at Northern Virginia Community College this week. The college is hosting an open house for active-duty service members, veterans and family members. Advisors will be on hand to answer questions about financial aid and the academic degrees they offer. The event is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday at the college’s Annandale campus on in the student services building on 8333 Little River Turnpike.
