Wellness On Wheels Bus Will Serve Alexandria Children

Mobile health unit will serve Alexandria children.

The federal government recently awarded Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) a $380,771 grant to start a mobile health unit to serve the John Adams, William Ramsay and Patrick Henry Elementary School students.

The bus is affectionately known as the "WOW" bus (Wellness on Wheels), a name that was put to a vote in a community-wide poll.

On board the bus will be licensed medical professionals from Alexandria Neighborhood Health Services, Inc. (ANHSI) who will provide basic primary health care, including physical exams, routine dental and behavioral health services for children.
