News to Know: VDOT Lane Closures This Week

The Virginia Department of Transportation will continue with nighttime full road closures of the the Interstate 95/I-395 reversible HOV lanes south of Duke Street on Monday through Friday nights.

During night time construction hours, motorists will be able to access the I-395 HOV lanes north to Washington at Seminary Road and Shirlington. All HOV lanes will be open to traffic by 5 a.m.

Other closures include:

BRAC/MARK CENTER PROJECT
Nighttime work - Closures Monday - Thursday nights occur between 9:30 p.m. and 5 a.m. and unless otherwise noted. Friday 9:30 p.m. to 9 a.m. unless otherwise noted.

• No night work scheduled

Daytime work - Closures occur between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday - Thursday and Friday 9 a.m. to noon unless otherwise noted.

• Seminary Rd. (Route 420) west between I-395 and Mark Center Ave. - Left lane and left turn lane closed Monday - Thursday for concrete and paving work. Traffic will be directed to continue west, make a left on N. Beauregard St., left on Mark Center Dr. and follow signs to Mark Center Ave.
• Seminary Rd. (Route 420) west between N. Van Dorn St. and I-395 - Right lane closed Monday - Friday for median realignment.
• Seminary Rd. (Route 420) east from N. Beauregard St. to I-395 - Single lane closed Monday - Friday for excavation.
• Seminary Rd. (Route 420) east ramp to I-395 south - Single lane closed Monday - Friday for sign installation.
• Mark Center Ave. north and south from Mark Center Dr. to Seminary Rd. (Route 420) - Single lane closed Monday - Friday for sign installation.
• N. Beauregard St. north and south from Mark Center Dr. and Seminary Rd. (Route 420) - Single lane closed Monday - Friday for excavation.

95 EXPRESS LANES PROJECT
Nighttime work - Closures occur between 9 p.m. and 4:30 a.m. unless otherwise noted.

• I-95 reversible HOV lanes from Dumfries Rd. (Route 234) to Duke St. - Road closed Monday - Thursday nights from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. and Friday night from 11 p.m. to 9 a.m. for barrier work and conduit installation. Traffic will be directed to use the general purpose lanes.
• I-95 north from Old Keene Mill/Franconia Rd. (Route 644) to Exit 166, Fairfax Co. Pkwy. (Route 286) - Three lanes closed Monday - Friday nights for barrier movement and lane shifts
• I-395 north and south between I-495 and Exit 4, Seminary Rd. (Route 420) - Two lanes closed Monday - Friday nights for survey, barrier, drilling and drainage work.
• I-395 north from Exit 2, Edsall Rd. to Exit 3, Duke St. (Route 236) - Single lane closed Friday night from 9 p.m. to 9:30 a.m. for drainage work.
• I-95 south at Telegraph Rd. overpass - Intermittent full road closure of up to 30 minutes Wednesday and Thursday nights for crane movement.
• Seminary Rd. (Route 420) east and west at I-95 - Mobile single lane closed Monday - Friday for survey work.
• Duke St. (Route 236) east and west at I-95 - Mobile single lane closed Monday - Friday for survey work.
• Edsall Rd. (Route 648) east and west at I-95 - Mobile single lane closed Monday - Friday for survey work.
• Old Keene Mill Rd./Franconia Rd. (Route 644) at I-95 - Mobile single lane closed Monday - Friday nights for survey work.

Daytime work - Closures occur Monday - Thursday between 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 a.m. to noon unless otherwise noted.

• I-95/395 reversible HOV lanes between I-495 and Dumfries Rd. (Route 234) - Single lane closed Monday - Friday for excavation, ground work and paving.
• I-395 north and south between I-495 and Exit 4, Seminary Rd. (Route 420) - Single lane closed Monday - Friday for clearing.
• Richmond Hwy. (Route 1) north and south at I-95 - Single lane closed Monday - Friday for utility work.
• Jefferson Davis Hwy. (Route 1) between Telegraph Rd. and Russell Rd. - Right lane closed Monday - Friday for detour sign installation.
• Russell Rd. east and west from Telegraph Rd. to Purvis Rd. - Right lane closed Monday - Friday for detour sign installation and ground work.
• Telegraph Rd. from Russell Rd. to Midway Rd. - Single lane closed Monday - Friday nights for detour sign installation. Flagger will be onsite to direct traffic.
