Alexandria Prepares for Next Round of Snow
Much of Northern Virginia could see another inch or more of snow Friday afternoon and evening.
Alexandria woke up to a soft, thin blanket of snow Thursday and began preparing for round 2, which is in the forecast for Friday.
More snow may start falling Friday afternoon and continue through the evening rush hour.
There is a 70 percent chance that Northern Virginia will get more snow, said Steve Goldstein, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service.

Temperatures Thursday night will dip into the teens under clear skies. Friday's temperature will struggle to reach 30 degrees again.

Wednesday, several city trucks sprayed liquid deicer on main roads in Alexandria as the Virginia Department of Transportation salted highways to help ease the morning commute.
Joan Morris, a spokeswoman for VDOT, said crews will pre-treat main roads Thursday night and Friday in an effort to melt some of the ice that may develop overnight on roads and bridges.
“We’re going to be mobilizing again at 4 a.m.,” Morris said.
