Police Charge Husband in Murder of Alexandria Woman Last Seen Alive Near Edsall Road

Police say her body was found Saturday morning in the Occoquan River.

Fairfax County Police detectives charged Caleb Crew, 25, Saturday with the murder of his wife, Andrea Crew, whose body was found in the Occoquan River.

The couple reportedly lived in the Mount Vernon area on the 8000 block of Gila Court in Alexandria. Police reported that Andrea Crew, 31, was the mother of two children.

Andrea Crew was reported missing Thursday, reportedly last seen alive Wednesday in a bank parking lot near Edsall Road.

Caleb Crew was taken into custody at the Mount Vernon District Station and then transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center where he was served a warrant charging him with the murder of Andrea Crew.

Detectives are continuing to investigate the death. They worked throughout Friday night and Saturday as they conducted an extensive search of the Occoquan River where the body was recovered earlier. A boater spotted the body Saturday at about 9 a.m., police said.
