Winter Weather Advisory in Alexandria Monday Morning

Sleet will make for slick roads for the morning commute across the D.C. area.

Alexandria is under a winter weather advisory from 5 a.m. - 10 a.m. Monday, according to the National Weather Service.

Sleet and freezing rain will hit Northern Virginia will develop before dawn and continue through mid-morning—straight through the morning commute.

Temperatures will be about 30 degrees, but will rise to the mid-30s during the day.

The weather service advises that "icing will produce slippery conditions on untreated roads, bridges and sidewalks, particularly during the Monday morning commute." 

The advisory covers the entire DC metro area.
