More Buses, Signal Upgrades on Transportation Priority List in Alexandria

The Northern Virginia Transportation Authority highlights several Alexandria projects.

A Virginia government panel that chooses how to distribute transportation funds in Northern Virginia has come up with an initial list, Washington Business Journal reported.

Here are the projects in Alexandria the Northern Virginia Transportation Authority has highlighted:

  • DASH bus expansion (five new buses).
  • Traffic signal upgrades/transit signal priority.
  • Shelters and real-time transit information for DASH/WMATA.
  • Potomac Yard Metrorail station environmental impact statement (EIS).

In addition, the panel chose some VRE projects—one of which will help Alexandria commuters with station and tunnel improvements.
