Port City Now Available at Nationals Park

Alexandria brewery one of four local beer makers now on tap at the ballpark.

Port City Brewing Company’s Optimal Wit is now available at Nationals Park.

The Alexandria brewery is one of four local beer producers that made their way into the baseball stadium over the weekend for the first time, according to DCist.

Local breweries DC Brau and 3 Stars from the District and Mad Fox Brewing Company from Falls Church joined Port City on draught at a new kiosk behind Section 139.

DC Brau founder Brandon Skall told DCist that Port City’s Bill Butcher lobbied with the club to get the local brews in the stadium.

According to the Port City website, Optimal Wit “is brewed in the Belgian Wit Bier tradition. It is brewed with raw wheat and oats, and steeped with coriander, orange peel and grains of paradise. This ale is a pale golden color with a bit of cloudy haze from natural yeast in the bottle. This unfiltered ale offers layers of complex, nuanced flavors that evolve in the glass. It finishes crisp and refreshes the palate.”
