Improvements for Mark Center Commuters
New turns lanes and wider intersections open Monday.
Was your commute to or past the Mark Center and Seminary Road area along I-395 a little quicker Monday morning?
New turn lanes and wider intersections were opened to provide more access lanes to I-395, according to WTOP. The changes are expected to help drivers get to and from the Mark Center.
"It's a significant improvement because it creates a specified area where people can make a turn rather than backing other people up who want to go through," Steve Titunik with Virgina Megaprojects told WTOP.

The specific improvements around the Mark Center include:
- A right turn lane has been added on westbound Seminary Road to Southern Towers
- New lanes at the Seminary Road/N. Beauregard Street intersection
- Enhanced sidewalks and crosswalk ramps that comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act
