Northern Virginia Community College Prof. Dr. Jimmie McClellan will spend the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday giving a lecture on the Civil Rights Movement at the Alexandria Detention Center.
McClellan is participating in a monthly series by the Alexandria Sheriff's Office, and he will be speaking to 150 inmates and law enforcement personnel in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The federal holiday is observed Monday.
