McDonald's at Bradlee Shopping Center Closed for Renovations
Site is one of many across the country getting a "facelift."
The McDonald's at Bradlee Shopping Center on King Street in Alexandria is closed while it undergoes a nearly monthlong renovation.
The restaurant is surrounded by a chain-link fence. Chairs from inside the restaurant were sitting out on the sidewalk, and construction workers were busy ripping holes in exterior walls.
The weather this week, unseasonably warm for January, is perfect for outdoor construction work.
An employee said the McDonald's is expected to re-open at the end of January.
The McDonald's at 3510 Duke St. in Alexandria was recently renovated, as was the McDonald's at 5311 Duke St.

They did this to two in Stafford, one on Garrisonville Road, and the other at Aquia Towne Center on Jeff Davis Hwy & Garrisonville Road. Each took about a month or less, and I think the first one they nearly tore completely down and rebuilt from its foundation.

We saw this at the McDonalds on Duke Street, too, near Quaker Lane. I've never seen a building go down and up that fast. They must have this down to a science...
